A New Branch Delivered At Pace

We were delighted to deliver this design and build bank fit out for Handelsbanken in Morpeth, supporting the relocation and expansion of another branch for a client we have worked with successfully across multiple locations nationwide.

With the lease on the existing premises coming to an end, the programme was immediately under pressure. The team needed a new branch delivered and ready to occupy within a very tight window, with all fit out works and new furniture package included. It was a demanding scheme, really, but one that relied on close collaboration, quick decision-making and a clear understanding of how Handelsbanken branches need to function day to day.

Creating A Branch That Works Day To Day

Completed across 3,500 sq ft in a six-week programme, the project involved the full transformation of the new Morpeth site into a fully operational Handelsbanken branch. Although the available fit out window was reduced even further during the programme, FC Workplace worked closely with the client team to design, source and deliver the scheme within the required timescale.

Working alongside our in-house designers, we developed the brief through to sign-off with Handelsbanken before handing over to our dedicated Project Manager and full-time Site Manager to deliver the project through to completion. This joined-up approach allowed the scheme to move quickly from concept stage into live delivery without losing momentum.

The scope of works included a full strip out, new HVAC installation, full rewire, data installation, glazed partitioning, new ceiling, kitchen, floor finishes throughout, new doors, full toilet refurbishment, and the creation of a one-hour fire-rated store room. A complete furniture package was also delivered as part of the scheme, giving the client one coordinated team from concept to completion.

Because of the compressed programme, works had to continue through bank holidays and weekends to keep everything on track. It was a fast-moving project, perhaps more than most, but careful management and strong communication helped ensure the branch was delivered with minimal fuss.

The Result

The completed Handelsbanken Morpeth branch is a smart, well-finished and fully functional banking environment that supports both the operational needs of the team and the expectations of clients using the space. Despite the pressures of an extremely tight programme, the project was delivered smoothly and with a clear focus on quality throughout.

From the new services and partitioned spaces to the refreshed finishes and full furniture package, every element was brought together to create a professional and welcoming branch environment. The final result reflects the consistency, reliability and attention to detail required when delivering repeat fit outs for a major financial client.

Most importantly, the relocation was achieved on time and with minimum disruption, allowing the Handelsbanken team to make the move exactly when needed.
